Who's behind Zygo?
Zygo was set up by a team with complementary experience in mobile, media, marketing and technology. This, combined with a shared passion for creating simple, useful and elegant services, has fuelled Zygo's ambition of helping groups of people stay in touch with one another as easily as staying in touch one-to-one.
The founders have spent several years researching, building, testing and trialling their launch service, which is covered by a patent (granted in August 2007). In November 2007, the company closed a substantial second round of financing from a consortium of angel investors.
Vision
Across the globe, people are communicating with one another more and more, using technologies that in many cases didn't exist twenty years ago: email, text messaging, social networking sites, instant messaging. We meet new people, get their email addresses or mobile numbers. One to one communication couldn't be easier. But in our busy, mobile lives, keeping in touch with the groups of people that really matter to us is still a chore.
Our path to realising that vision starts with mobile, because, after all, everyone has a mobile, and mobile communication is instant and immediate. Mobile will always be at the heart of what we do, but, over time, we'll develop the service to include email, instant messaging and all the other services we rely on every day.
